How to use the tarot reading helper

This tool turns the cards you have drawn into a reading you can actually follow. There is no wrong way to use it, but here is the simple flow:

  • Choose your spread. From a single card to the ten-card Celtic Cross. Each spread gives every card a position, and the position shapes its meaning.
  • Set a focus. Optional, but naming what you are asking about helps the cards land.
  • Lay your own cards. Shuffle your deck, draw a card for each position, and enter it here, upright or reversed.
  • Read it back. The helper gives you each position's meaning, the card's meaning, and a line to weave them together. The real reading is in the connections, so read slowly.

New to the cards? Browse all the tarot spreads, learn the card meanings, or pull a single card of the day to practise.

A gentle note

Tarot is a mirror for reflection, not a forecast of fixed events. This helper offers prompts and traditional meanings to think with, never a verdict to obey. Take what is useful, trust your own response to the cards, and leave the rest.

Tarot reading FAQ

How do you read a tarot spread?

You read each card in light of its position, then look at how the cards speak to one another. A card means something different in the past position than in the outcome position. This tool gives you both the position meaning and the card meaning, so you can weave them together.

What does it mean when a card is reversed?

A reversed card, drawn upside down, usually softens, blocks or turns inward its upright meaning. It is not bad luck. If you are learning, you can also choose to read every card upright.

Which tarot spread should I use?

Start with one card or a three card spread for a quick read, and use the Celtic Cross or a themed spread, like love or a decision, when you want more depth. Browse them all in the tarot spreads library.

Can I read tarot for myself?

Yes. Many readers only ever read for themselves. A clear question, a spread and an honest look at the cards is all you need, and this helper is here to guide you through it.
