What is a birth chart?
A birth chart, also called a natal chart, is a map of the sky at the exact moment and place you were born. It plots the Sun, Moon and planets against the twelve zodiac signs and the twelve houses, and astrologers read it as a portrait of your character, patterns and potential. It is a tool for reflection, not a fixed prediction.

How to read your chart wheel
The wheel has a few layers. The outer ring holds the twelve zodiac signs. Inside it sit the twelve houses, the areas of life, numbered from your rising sign on the left. The planets are placed by sign and house, showing where each energy lives in your chart. The lines across the centre are the aspects, the angles between planets that show how they work together.
